Instructions to Author

WJAS is a peer–reviewed online bimonthly journal working for the rapid publication of full-length research papers, case study, comparative study, short communications, review articles and book reviews in Ayurveda.

The primary objectives are to become the premier source of high quality research. Manuscripts are accepted on the understanding that the authors have obtained the necessary authority for publication. Manuscripts with more than one author require the consent of each author before publication. The publisher will presume that the corresponding author has specifically obtained the approval of all other co-authors to submit the article.

Manuscripts will be reviewed by members of the editorial board, associate editors and subject expert reviewers, whose opinions will form the basis for the final decision by the editor-in-chief.

MANUSCRIPT LENGTH:

Research articles:
It should present new studies that constitute a significant contribution to the existing knowledge. Research articles should be around 8-10 pages.

Review articles:
Review articles should include the extensive data collections with illustrative tables and diagrams. It should illustrate recent advances in respective fields. They should be around 10-12 pages.

Case Studies:
Case studies/Case reports should include the data collections with illustrative tables and diagrams. It should illustrate recent advances in Ayurveda sciences. They should be around 3-4 pages.

MANUSCRIPT FORMAT:

The preferred format of all manuscript is MS Word. Figures, tables and images must be inserted in the manuscript at the position they should appear when published.

Manuscript Preparation:
The language of the journal must be English. Manuscripts should be typewritten in single spaced in A4 sized sheets with a 1 inch margin on all sides. The manuscript shall be prepared in Times New Roman font using a font size of 12 and 1.5 line spacing. Title shall be in a font size14 bold face. Italic fonts style should not be used in the main text (Except Latin names or Sanskrit names or wherever applicable). Manuscripts shall be organized in the following order: Title page, Abstract, Key words, Introduction, Materials and methods, Results and discussions, Conclusion,Acknowledgements (if any) and References.

ABSTRACT
Abstract must be concise (not exceeding 150 words), clear, informative and should describe the purpose of the study/investigation, the method adopted in the study, the findings/observations of the investigation and the main conclusions reported in the paper.

Keywords:
Please provide 4 to 6 keywords that will assist in cross-indexing the article. It must reflect the scientific content of study.

INTRODUCTION
Introduction should be brief, indicates the state of the art of the topic, background information and significance of the study by considering the relevant literature.

MATERIALS AND METHODS
The research design, subjects, materials used, and statistical methods should be included.This part should be as clear as possible to enable other scientists to repeat the research presented.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
In this part, the same data or information given in a table must not be repeated in a figure,or vice versa. It is not acceptable to repeat extensively the numerals from tables into text and give lengthy and unnecessary explanations of the Tables and Figures. This part must be written withreference to the tables and figures and by considering information from the literature. Statements made in the Introduction and Results sections should not be repeated here. Discussion on the results of the investigation must be presented.

CONCLUSION
A conclusion section must be included and should indicate clearly the advantages, limitations, and possible applications of the paper. Although a conclusion may review the main points of the paper, do not replicate the abstract as the conclusion. A conclusion might elaborateon the importance of the work or suggest applications and extensions.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
It should be placed in a separate section before the references. Authors should acknowledge the sources of financial and material support and also acknowledge the names of persons whose contribution to the study, to generate the research results.

References
should be listed numerically, corresponding to their order of appearance in the text of article, in accordance with the Vancouver System[Surname author Initial(s). Chapter title. In: Surname editor Initial(s), editor(s). Book title. Place of publication: Publisher; Year.page(s)]. Identify references in text, tables, and legends by numerals in superscript. References cited only in tables or figure legends should be numbered in accordance with the sequence established by the first identification in the text of the particular table or figure. Avoid usingabstracts as references. (Follow standard practice of references) Eg. Trikamji J.,editor,(4th ed.) Tables:
Each table should be given on a separate page. Each table should have a short, descriptive title and numbered in the order cited in the text. Only MS word table format should be used for preparing tables.

Figures:
Graphs and bar graphs should preferably be prepared using Microsoft excel and submitted as Excel graph pasted on word. Photos or drawings must have a good contrast of dark and light. Legends of figures should be brief, but complete and self-explanatory.

Manuscript Submission:
The full manuscript has to be submitted online to Editor-In- Chief, as an attachment of full length article and copy right form. Manuscript is sent for review to the reviewers based on the topic of research. After the review, the necessary changes and comments on the manuscript weresent to the author within a week from the time of submission. Confirmation of acceptance will be given once the author satisfies the comments and comply with the changes suggested.Confirmation about the acceptance of the manuscript will be sent to e-mail address of the corresponding author.

Copyright:
It is a condition of publication that manuscripts submitted to this journal have not been published and is not simultaneously submitted or published elsewhere. Plagiarism is strictlyprohibited, and by submitting the article for publication the authors agree that the publishers have the legal right to take appropriate action against the authors, if plagiarism is discovered (Or any= conflicting information).On submission of a manuscript the authors agree that the copyright oftheir article is transferred to the publishers. Once article/research paper is submitted to the journal, the author cannot withdraw their manuscript at any stage prior to publication unlessrejected by editorial board.

Publication Charges:
Authors would not be charged any publication fees. Only on acceptance of the manuscript after peer review, corresponding author will have to pay nominal web maintenancefee, evaluation and peer-reviewing fees for which a mail regarding payment details and mode of payment will be communicated to the authors by editor-in- chief of the WJAS.
